The Loch Ness Mouse have started to record their new album in Harry’s Gym Recording Studios. Updates will follow. Excited!

In case you haven’t got the vinyl of the 11-22-album yet, out on Oslo Grammofon, go to www.myspace.com/oslogrammofon.

New photos out in “Live section” plus we’ve struck a deal with booking agency Kopter Agency, www.kopter.no, see “Booking”. New show.

Håvard does some studio session playing on the new Maria Solheim record “Will there be spring”. Check it out. Jørn has written a song (“Lord, don’t pass me by”) for the new The Ladybug Transistor album out on Merge Records (www.mergerecords.com) in May.

In memory of Marius Bodin Larsen (1972-2006):

All blues

We're so heartbroken by the message of Marius B. Larsen's passing on Dec. 19th, and at the same time we feel extremely fortunate to have known him and to have had the honor of working with him.

We first met the man in the late summer of 2005, when we sat down with him for a couple of intense weeks during long days of album mixing sessions. We had heard the best things about him up front, but to see how 2 years of writing and studio sessioning was now channeled through Marius' hands into the final mixes was sheer wonder. He was the perfect ears, hands, heart to hand it over to and to trust. If we had rounded it up at midnight, and he had handed me a test disc for the 1+1 hour drive home/back the next morning (because he always needed to be assured we didn't leave anything and move on before everything felt fully realized), he might meet us with a completely new mix the next day, because he had found some potential that needed to be explored, then spent hour on hour on it. And although it shone through very strongly in those weeks that he possessed a great knowledge in the whole register of technical nuances, it was always to make the music ring through and speak as clearly as possible that was his focus, in that room. He was a guy who could probably tell what was happening technically underneath the knobs, but didn't do much of that, because he sought something else: Through the way he played around on them, the sound of what you were searching for unfolded right before your ears. He was very listening.

Thank you.

Review:

Fra Pstereo:

The Loch Ness Mouse
modent for min smak. Blåserne lukter litt for sterk messing, og gitarene
blir liksom litt for mange år eldre enn meg.

helt spesielt i Ruinparken.

God only knows.
